The Provincial Archive share first single from new EP

The Provincial Archive have been hibernating for the past few years, not releasing any new music since Maybe We Could Be Holy in 2010. The Edmonton band are breaking their slumber with Hide Like A Secret, a new EP coming out June 10. The first single “Daisy Garden” can be streamed below.

New Cousins video for “Ocean”

Halifax garage-rock duo dropped another video from their new album The Halls of Wickwire. The video for “Ocean” is a compilation of VHS clips that, naturally, feature lots of ocean, beaches and other summery imagery. Last week the band released the video for “Body” featuring band members Aaron Mangle and Leigh Dotey boxing.

Kalle Mattson teams up with Kevin Parry for new video

Ottawa indie-folk rocker Kalle Mattson has a new video for “Hurt People Hurt People” off his latest album Someday the Moon Will Be Gold. This is the third time Mattson has collaborated with director Kevin Parry for a music video. One of their previous projects, the video for “Waterfalls”, ended up gong viral.

Kelp Records turns 20

Ottawa label Kelp Records is one year away from being legal in the U.S. In the meantime, they’re celebrating the anniversary this weekend with performances from the Acorn, Evening Hymns, Jim Bryson and more. You can check out a video of Jim Bryson talking about the label and performing the track “Firewatch” via our friends at Ottawa Showbox.

Stream new albums from Fucked Up and Jon McKiel

Exclaim has a couple albums streaming before they are released. The new Fucked Up album Glass Boys has two versions, a slow version and a fast version. You can listen to the slow version here. The album comes out June 3 via Arts & Crafts.

Secondly, you can check out the new self-titled EP from Jon McKiel, an EP recorded with Jay Crocker of Ghostkeeper. The EP is available via Headless Owl Records on June 3.
