This week’s Mix pick brings you the Halifax musician known for his electro brand of “bedroom disco” – A.A. Wallace.
Wallace was once the front man for indie rock band Sleepless Nights back in 2003 and it was through producing (i.e. mixing and mastering) that band’s minor discography that he fell in love with computers and creating electro-songs.
Collecting fans on the internet through his Soundcloud page who were drawn to his various mixes and remixes, Wallace has become a front-runner in the Canadian electronic scene.
His last set of tracks, (disambiguation), was released in May of this year to critical acclaim and really demonstrated what this guy can create with just a minimal amount of gear and some computers.
You can catch A.A. Wallace performing his disco, dance party pop at the Halifax Pop Explosion, which takes place October 22-26. Want to read more about the Halifax electro-star? We’ve got him featured in our fall issue of Mixtape.
