Halifax’s hottest summer festival, Halifax Jazz Festival, is back for its 32nd year.
As usual, the lineup features a mix of jazz, reggae, soul and everything in between. This year’s headliners include The War on Drugs, Chaka Khan, The Soul Rebels featuring Matisyahu, Matt Anderson with the Mellotones and Daniel Caesar.
Former Maritime residents Alvvays and Charlotte Day Wilson also return to town to perform on the big stage. After a four year hiatus, Liz Powell’s Land of Talk project is back in support of a new album released last year.
If you’re looking for more jazz hands emoji type of music, the iconic Jerry Granelli plays his latest album Dance Hall. Featuring Robben Ford, the local legend plays St. Matthew’s Church on July 13. Later on that night, Jeri Brown plays the Carleton.
We’ve put together a Spotify playlist featuring over 20 artists playing Halifax Jazz Festival. For the complete schedule and ticket prices, visit the festival website.
