From wearing formal attire in sports arenas to new albums from musical collaborators this week’s soundcheck is ram-jammered full of great things for your ears.

First off, Arcade Fire is looking to make your standard sports arena in to a more classy venue by issuing a dress code for their North American Tour. When purchasing tickets, fans are greeted with the notice of “NIGHT OF SHOW: Please wear formal attire or costume,” meaning it’s time to dust off those 1980s prom dresses, folks.

The Toronto band Pkew Pkew Pkew (Gunshots), known for party-pop that takes a toung-in-cheek spin on what they call “overly pretentious hipster “art” bands” dropped their debut album on November 13. The album, Glory Days is 10 tracks of high energy pop-punk sounds that prove to be a suitable soundtrack to a night of house party debauchery.

Some Saskatchewan rockers got together, formed a band called Teenland and recorded an album, set to drop today, November 19. Made of up Matt Goud (Northcote), Leif Thorseth (Rah Rah), Graham Jones (Yukon Blonde) and Michael Dawson (Library Voices),the album is a lot like fuzzy-pop sounds bordered in gritty grunge.

For those looking for more of a folky sound from a Canadian troubadour, Ottawa singer/songwriter Brock Zeman released his 10th album Rotten Tooth on November 13. Known for gritty, heavy-folk sounds that you would expect to hear in a western movie, Zeman has collected quite a following across this country.

Known for being one half of Death From Above – 1979, Sebastien Grainger has released a solo album titled Yours To Discover. Winding tunes of electro-pop-rock and catchy vocal lines, this album is bound to get you dancing, whether it be on the dance floor or in your living room.
