Soundcheck: New music from The Bros. Landreth, Dinosaurbones and more

Dinosaur Bones

The first day back after a long weekend is always the hardest day to endure. But as Tuesdays tend to be the unofficial day for new music, heading back to work doesn’t have to be all bad.

Kicking off your soundcheck this fine Tuesday is an announcement from Winnipeg brothers Joey and David Landreth about their debut album Let it lie. Playing under the band name The Bros. Landreth will be delivering their rootsy-classic rock sounding album on September 3. Take a listen to a track “Our Love” below:

Out today is the much anticipated second full length album from Dine Alone darlings, Dinosaur Bones. The album Shaky Dream, is being hailed as a true sophmore album, demonstrating the bands growth and maturity when it comes to their lo-fi indie rock sound. Check out a video from the album’s first single below:

If you are looking for a rootsy way to start your day, you can head over to the CBC music page, where they are streaming Rae Spoon’s upcoming album, My Prairie Home. The album is set to be released August 13, and features more of the acoustic, sad and soft sounds everyone expects from Spoon, only this time these songs also double as the soundtrack to the film collaboration Spoon did with the National Film Board of Canada.
