T’is the season to spread joy and good music, and this week’s Soundcheck is a one-two punch of both.

December 13, Toronto band Teenage Kicks released their version of “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” as a treat for their “singles club” members. But in true holiday spirit, all fans can listen to the song for free on their website, or download an MP3 for $1, with all proceeds going to Toys For Tots.

Canadian rappers Swollen Members continue to push their latest album, Beautiful Death Machine, released in March. The video for “Juggernaut” is dark and twisted, complete with flashing images of lab experiments and psych-ward debauchery. Watch:

And perhaps as a little special Holiday gift, Ontario rockers Tokyo Police Club released the first single for their much anticipated third album, set to be released in early 2014. The song, “Argentina (Parts I, II, III)” is nearly nine minutes of pop-music love, featuring a variety of rhythms and instrumentation, The video looks to be a little bit of a visual homage to simplicity.
