Currently on tour with fellow Torontonians, July Talk, Thomas D’Arcy is delivering pop-rock that sounds like he’s channeling classic alt-rock in all the right ways.
Known as front man or member of many Canadian bands, including Small Sins, The Carnations and Major Maker, D’Arcy has released four albums in just over a year, and most recently released The Price You Pay on Soundcloud.
Firmly rooted as a powerhouse in the Canadian music scene, D’Arcy writes whimsical tunes that feature modern layers of musical panache yet still remind the listener of a classic sound one would expect from alt-rock pioneers such as Lou Reed or David Bowie. Having written songs for television and film, D’Arcy is also skilled at evoking an emotional response from his listeners, keeping them looking for more. And as he seems to be writing new music at a prolific rate, fans don’t have to wait long for the next best thing to come from this creative musician.
If you are out West during the month of November, make sure you catch D’Arcy play with July Talk on their Western Canada tour happening throughout the month of November.
