Fossil Cliffs, the solo project of Mike D’Eon (Kuato, The Establishment), is back with the new single “I Never Thought You Would”. The track is efficient, jumping straight to the lyrics with the direct question “Are you feeling better now, now that I’ve been gone?”. D’Eon uses the sludge rock of Fossil Cliffs as an outlet for internal emotions, a change of pace from the social-political charge of the now defunct band The Establishment, and his current band, the lyric-less post-rock Kuato. “I Never Thought You Would” has a liberating sound, breaking through and never sounding defeated while expressing personal sentiments in a two minute nugget.
