Yukon Blonde frontperson debuts new solo project

B.C. rock band Yukon Blonde are currently taking a little break to catch their collective breath between albums and after a lengthy tour. Frontperson Jeffrey Innes has kept busy, starting a solo project titled High Ends in his free time. High Ends debut album has no name or release date at this point, but we know it was recorded with Colin Stewart and features a number of musician friends including Jeff Mitchelmore (Gold & Youth), Louise Burns, Kathryn Calder (New Pornographers) and Darcy Hancock (Ladyhawk). High Ends plays shows in Alberta this June.

Neil Young and Jack White make record on The Tonight Show

Last night, Neil Young was a guest on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where he covered Willie Nelson’s song “Crazy” (made popular by Patsy Cline). Young performed the track inside a tiny recording booth which in turn produced a 6″ vinyl of the recording right on the show. The recording booth from the 1940s is owned by Jack White and is usually stored at his Third Man record store/studio in Nashville. White was also on the show to talk about the history of the machine and how Neil Young’s new cover album A Letter Home was conceived. The new album comes out May 27.
